I was a long time resident. The subway extension did NOT gentrify the neighborhood. What you see in the video is pretty much what was there fifteen, twenty years ago. What the subway did do was make this residential neighborhood a lot more accessible. The minibus drivers were psychotic.

Temple tour is never a strong point for Hong Kong. Now that I see the landscape is so steep, there’s no way we elders would go to. Some young tourists taking picture, eh?

Yes Memorial park has some of the best views in HK. The perfect place to walk for all ages. I saw a lot of older people there and even a guy fishing. 👍👍🤎🤎
